Groundcover

Sweet woodruff is a mat-forming perennial that is grown in shady areas as a ground cover. The plants grow 8-12in tall. Leaves have a vanilla and fresh cut grass fragrance (fragrance intensifies if leaves are dried); lance shaped, dark green leaves in a spiral pattern of 6-8 along square stems. Small, 4-petaled, white, fragrant flowers appear in loose clusters in the spring
